Hello,

I’ve been trying to install Qt Creator for a few days but it fails every time when I install it. I followed all steps from the instruction.

When I compile the program I’ve got this error:

“The name ‘cl’ is not recognized

command failed with exit code 1

command failed with exit code 2

19:21:38: The process “C:\Users\Justyna\FelgoSDK\QtCreator\bin\jom.exe” exited with code 2.

Error while building project prooba (target: Desktop)

When executing build step ‘Make'”

 

Win 7, Qt Creator SDK 4.8.1

Hi JoteS,

did you also install the Win7 SDK as described in the installation guide? This error sounds like a problem with the Microsoft Visual Studio Compiler.Could you please try to run a normal Qt application by creating a new application of type “Qt Quick Application (Built-in Elements)” and then select the MSVC2010 compiler from the Projects tab, as it is shown in the bottom image of the installation guide?

THANK YOU VERY MUCH.

You were right. I had to install the Microsoft Visual Studio and now everything works!
