Why is the apk 12 mbs? What causes the file size to be so large?
the engine overhead is 10MB due to the underlyign Qt & Cocos2d-x libraries. The remaining 2MB are the assets. We will reduce the engine overhead with the next major V-Play update 2.0. For a comparison of file sizes, you can also see this blog post.
Is it possible to make it so only the essential parts of the qt & cocos2d-x libraries are included in the sdk? What is going to be done to reduce the overhead?
We will be looking at ways to make Qt parts selectable after we rolled out the initial release.
The reason why it will still be getting smaller compared to the current version, is because we do not need the cocos2d-x libraries any more as Qt ones are sufficient. 😉
