    Please help, I’m desperate!

    I have never been able to successfully connect my game to Facebook. I can’t figure out where the problem is, but maybe someone could help pinpointing it. I believe I’ve followed all of the steps in the guide, but when I press “connect with facebook” the following happens:

    “myapp would like to access your public profile and friend list” message appears, I press ok, then it immediately returns to “Profile” without a connection to Facebook.

    config has facebook listed as a plugin, ive imported facebook plugin into main.qml, and my qml entry for facebook is:

    Facebook {

          // the user will automatically connect with facebook

          // once "connect" is pressed in the ProfileView in the GameNetworkView

          id: facebook

          // this is the Facebook App Id received from the settings in developers.facebook.com/apps

          appId: "457253437735728"

          readPermissions: ["email", "read_friendlists"]

          publishPermissions: ["publish_actions"]

        }

    If these configurations seem okay, would anyone want to take a look at my facebook app settings? Thanks! -Ed

    Hi,

    a couple of possible reasons:

    1.) Are you testing on iOS or Android? If on iOS, make sure to add the “url_schemes” part to your config.json as mentioned in the docs.

    2.) Did you log in with your facebook developer facebook?

    3.) What is the connection text status in the Profile view?

    Cheers, Chris

    1. Just on android for now.

    2. Yes I am logged in with the same facebook account that I made the app with.

    3. Nothing changes. Still says connect with facebook when I enter profile.

    Thanks for looking into this

    Could this have to do with settings on my game network area on v-play.net? Can someone post a screenshot of a working game network page with the settings such as facebook app id, canvas url, etc.

    Hi Ed,

    what is the gameNetwork id of your game? I can then have a look at your settings..

    Can you also post a link to a screenshot of the fb developer settings with the iOS & Android settings on it(without the secret of course)?

    Cheers,

    Chris

    Hi Ed,

    your settings look fine. I had a look at your GameNetwork settings and noticed you added the fb secret in “…”. I removed the “” now – could you please try it again if it works now?

    Cheers, Chris
