we provide 2 versions of V-Play:
A free version, which contains all features of the full engine and allows you to develop games on Windows, Mac and Linux. With the free version, you can also publish your game for all these desktop systems and for Symbian & MeeGo without any cost.
With the Pro version, you can publish your games to iOS & Android, and enjoy an unlimited amount of developer builds on our build server for iOS & Android (the free version is limited to 30 / month). For more information, you can also look at the upgrade page: http://v-play.net/upgrade/.
The V-Play SDK Core itself is proprietary, with the following exceptions:
- The Demo Games which come with the SDK are released under MIT-like license: The source code of them can be used, copied, modified, published and distribued. The rights for the image, audio and video files are held by V-Play, so you can not use the same images in your games. See the LICENSE.txt files in the demo folders for the full license description.
- The Components written in QML of the V-Play SDK Core are distributed with a LGPL license.
We are currently using the LGPL v2 license of Qt, so you also need to confirm with it. What that means, is that you need to publish the objects files of your games if you are publishing your game for iOS, because static linking is required there. If that is not an option for you, please consider the Qt commercial license and contact us.
For the full license agreement of the V-Play SDK, you can read the V-PlayLicense.txt file in the Licenses directory of the installed SDK. It is also prompted at the V-PlayInstaller when installing the SDK on your PC.
